Altador Plot Steps
The steps of the plot
1. The first place we visit is the Hall of Heros in the mysterious city of Altador. Then talk to the Janitor located at the top right hand corner.

2. The janitor says, "Well hello," he says. "Pretty hall we got here, eh? Lovely statues. Too bad it's so dimly lit. I think this button here is supposed to do something, but I can't figure out what."
Press the button next to the Janitor and it will say that nothing has happened.

Press continue. You will then find the Janitor very angry, "'I TOLD YOU! It doesn't do anything!! Why did you push it anyway?! RAARGH!!' The janitor flails his mop around angrily."
3. Next, go to the Altadorian Archives and try to remove the book under the table leg.

The archivist says, "You can't have that book! I'm using it to stabilise the table." Press continue and the archivist says, "Yes, I'm using that book to stabilise this table. The bottom of the table leg is perfectly flat, but it's exactly three inches short. If only I had something to replace it..."
Perhaps a rock or some sort.
4. Go to the Perfectly Flat Rock Quarry. Find the 3-inch rock.

"You find a Perfectly Flat Three-Inch Rock. How extraordinary!" Yay, now there something to replace the book with. Press continue.
5. Now we go back to the Altadorian Archives and replace the book under the table leg with the rock from the previous step.
"You replace the book with the Perfectly Flat Three-Inch Rock. It's an exact fit, and the table is completely stable!"

Continue
Curious what might be in the book... Let's see...

The books is all about the city of Altador. You can flip through the pages...

Huh? There is only 3 pages to the book...
6. Back to the Hall of Heros and talk to the Janitor again... "You know, maybe the gears have just gotten dirty or seized up, it's been so long since the button was used. If there were some way to grease the gears, the button might do something again."
We need to help the Janitor and find some oil. The oil is hidden behind the 12 statues. You have to click on each one until you find the oil.

"Behind the statue's base, you notice a jar of oil and a rag."
Take the Oil
Talk to the Janitor again and he says, "Oh, you found the oil I use to polish the plaques! Good idea! Maybe it can free up the gears. Go ahead and put some on the button mechanism, and we'll see what happens."
Go and push the button...
Suddenly, gears begin to grind, and the great ceiling above you opens up, admitting much more light to the room!"

Continue
The janitor will say, "Argh! Now it's light, and I'll have to go back to mopping instead of guarding this button! Curse you!" But you think he means "curse you" in a friendly way.
7. You will notice the Hall of Heros has lighten up... View the roof of each statue in the Hall of Heros.

Click on the place indicated in red.
You will get something like this everytime:

8. Climb up a staircase that has appeared to the left.

"After climbing hundreds of stairs, you find yourself in some kind of dome-shaped room atop the Hall of Heroes."
9. The next step is to join the Astronomy Club.

"Join the Astronomy Club! With your very own telescope, learn to search the heavens for interesting cosmological phenomena, see ancient nebulae, and identify constellations!"
The president of the Astronomy Club welcomes you warmly. "Our Astronomy Club is growing by the day! Apparently we're the only club in Altador that's actually accepting new members at the moment."
The Astronomy Club is a place where Neopians can learn all about the cosmos. Stars, planets, comets, asteroids, constellations, nebulae... they're all out there waiting to be discovered.

The president of the Astronomy Club waves as you enter the astronomy lab. "Hey, thanks for coming! We're really happy you joined the club. In fact, as a new member, we've got a special gift for you..."

Next, Return to Archives
10. With your new telescope and knowledge, go back the the Observatory in the Hall of Heros. Put your telescope in place for viewing.

You place your telescope onto the mount, and aim it up at the heavens. Remarkable!

Darkest Faerie, the Sleeper
The steps to find the constellation
The next step is to visit the tomb.

Click on the dots on the doors. You should have an ending result:

Next, go back to your telescope and find and locate a consellation similar to the tomb's dots. Once you find those stars, connect them. If you have trouble finding the consellation, view the next paragraph.
If you run into trouble trying to located the consellation, go to here to find your stars data. Copy and paste all the stars data to the Ye Olde Star Mapper, (a tool to map out your stars -- You should probobly use Internet Explorer because the tracing tool helps). The Star Mapper should be able to find your consellation.

Go back and talk to the archivist.
The archivist says, "Extraordinary! You've identified a constellation based on the..." He looks around suspiciously, and speaks low. "On the Darkest Faerie? Her eyes, in fact? This... how strange." He stops for a second, staring blankly. "You know, I'm having the oddest feeling, like this is familiar. There's something on the tip of my brain, some piece of information... what is it?" He shakes his head. "I just can't figure it out. Well, perhaps there are other constellations to be found."
The archivist shuffles over to the Book of Ages and flips it open. "Something else has happened, however, and it might be connected to your discovery of the constellation. A few more pages of the book have magically filled themselves in! It tells a story about the Darkest Faerie herself... from before. Before she turned evil, and betrayed us."
Read the new chapters that appeared in the book.
Visit the Darkest Faerie statue in the Hall of Heros. Click on the roof (ceiling) of the statue.

Talk to the Janitor...
The janitor shouts at you, "HEY! Stop leaving the lights on in the observatory! It's wasteful! I CAN'T STAND WASTEFULNESS!! RAAARGHH!!"
Psellia, the Dreamer
The steps to find the constellation
Go up into the clouds of Altador. Click on the cloud, on the Altador map, at the top-right hand corner to get there. Next, click on one of the numerous gaps in the clouds to find the next consellation.

The gaps between the clouds seem to have formed themselves into an odd pattern.
Talk to the archivist...
The archivist says, "Another pattern, floating in the clouds? What wonders you find! Perhaps it corresponds to another constellation. Off to the observatory with you!"
The next step is a repeat:
Find the constellation, similiar to the gaps in the clouds, with the telescope. If you cannot locate the constellation, copy your new stars data and use the Ye Olde Star Mapper.
Once you found the new constellation, go back to the archivist...
The archivist says, "Ah, you found another constellation! Most excellent. And another chapter has appeared in the Book of Ages! This one seems to concern Psellia, also known as the Dreamer."
The archivist examines some notes on his desk. "I've been thinking about what's going on. Why these clues are revealing themselves to someone such as yourself. And why this did not happen until after the Darkest Faerie was defeated, and her grip on Altador broken." He shakes his head. "It makes sense, intuitively, but I don't know what's going on. I've been looking through the Archives, trying to find something in our histories that could explain this, but I've been having trouble even finding the histories in all this mess." He shakes his head. "I'll get this place cleaned up one day, I swear..."
If you go back the Astronomy Club, you will get some congratulatory remarks.
The Astronomy Club members crowd around you as you enter. "ANOTHER constellation? Good grief!" says the club president. "You're really a great astronomer already! I can't wait to tell everyone that one of my club members has found two whole constellations!"
Visit the Psellia the Dreamer's statue in the Hall of Heros and click on the ceiling...
Talk to the Janitor...
The janitor says, "Those lights above each statue sure are pretty when they light up. I wonder what they mean?" He shakes his head. "Oh well, too much cleaning to do, no time to figure it out."
Siyana, the First to Rise
The steps to find the constellation
Go to the Restive Tomb and click on the most left-bottom pixel corner.
You turn around and see a breathtaking view of Altador. The sun, low on the horizon, seems to be shining through the tower of the Hall of Heroes.
Hall of Heroes? Let's go back there and visit the statue of Sasha, the Dancer. There is a nice view out the window. Click on the window.

Notice the spots of lights in the road? Click on one of them and you will find a new pattern of a constellation!

The spots of sunlight seem to be forming some kind of pattern on the road...
Talk to the archivist... The archivist says, "A pattern of sunlight on the road... The sun itself conspires to bring us wisdom, it seems. All these clues... perhaps I should start keeping a list of these clues, for easy reference. While I do that, it's off to the observatory with you. Find that constellation!"
Well! You heard him. Go find that constellation!
It is Siyana, the First to Rise! Go back to the archivist...
The archivist says, "Ah, Siyana. The First to Rise, as she is called. How fitting that her constellation should be revealed by the rising sun." He chuckles. "I'm afraid I haven't much more to tell you about why this is all happening, though perhaps we can learn from what I haven't found. You see, I've gone through the entire archives twice -- and I can't find a single history book. I can't fathom there being thieves in Altador interested solely in history books, though..." He shakes his head. "But I'll keep looking, and see what I can find."
The archivist clears his throat. "Oh, by the way, if you want to see all your previous clues collected into one place, I've made up a list for you here."
Looks like the archivist really did start keeping a list of these clues! You can now read about Siyana in the book.
Go to the statue of Siyana, the First to Rise and click on the ceiling.
The janitor shouts, "HEY! What's the big idea putting your grubby hands all over the windowsill?! I have to clean those things, you know! Were you raised in a barn?!" He must be referring to the window behind the Dancer.
Let's go see what is going on in the Astronomy Club...
Nevertheless, he withdraws a small item from his robes. "Well, uh, anyway... I suppose you should have this, now that you're obviously a full-fledged astronomer."

Florin, the Farmer
The steps to find the constellation
Farmer, eh? Well, where else to go than a farm! Visit the The Old Follies Farm, one of Altador's oldest farms, owned by Farmer Follies and his family.

Farmer Follies eyes you as you approach. "Well howdy there," he says. "You're from the city, eh? I've got a ninth cousin there, works as a janitor, maybe you know him."
Go into the windmill, through the door:

Farmer Follies runs into the windmill, shouting at you. "WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!" He slaps your hand away from the windmill machinery.
Click on the window.

The window will lead you to a part of a farm. Click on one of the hay stacks and you the next constellation will be revealed:

The archivist says, "A clue revealing itself in a pattern of wheat in a field? Remarkable! There must be strong magics afoot indeed, if these clues can be found in such subtle and unexpected places."
Back to the telescope and find that constellation.
It seems the Astronomy Club is happy for you, except the president...The Astronomy Club members greet you warmly as you enter the room... except the club president, who seems a little upset. "Okay, we get it, you're a great astronomer. I mean, four constellations? So quickly? That's just... Are you sure you aren't... cheating, somehow? How could you know so much about the sky, when we've lived here all our lives and never been able to find any constellations?" he grumps.
The archivist says, "Ah, yes, a constellation representing Florin, the great Farmer of Altador. Truly, our land has flourished because of his wise oversight in bringing us foodstuffs."
He turns away and coughs gently. "Um... it seems that I'm still having trouble finding any history books in the Archives. I'm beginning to suspect that some magic might be involved. But such magics do not bear the stain of the Darkest Faerie; I do not believe the missing history books are her doing. I think I shall investigate and see if any other history books can be found within Altador. The Archives are not the only store of knowledge here -- merely the largest, and most impressive!"
Read about Florin, the great Farmer of Altador in the Book of Ages.

The janitor says, "It sure is interesting watching those lights on the ceiling light up. What are you getting up to in that observatory, anyway?"
Sasha, the Dancer
The steps to find the constellation
Visit the Dance Club, located in the Altadorian Archives.

You look at the flyer on the bulletin board. It seems to be advertising a Dance Club!
"Join the Dance Club! Learn to glide across the dance floor and impress all your friends with your funky style!"
"Maybe now I'll get some people to join my club!" He looks at you as you enter. "You again?! I don't want the likes of you in my club!"
Oh dear! Despite the flyer, it seems that the Dance Club isn't accepting new members at the moment.

There seems to be a regular pattern of lights reflecting off the disco ball...
The archivist says, "Ah, another clue? Right here in our very own Archives? And in some kind of underground dancing establishment operating on the premises?! Who authorised that? Go, find that constellation, I've got to deal with these hooligans." Better get going to that telescope, before the archivist gets any angrier!
The janitor shouts, "My favorite underground dance club got closed down by that stinkin' Archivist! GRAARGH, THAT MAKES ME SO ANGRY!!!" He hurls his mop to the floor and stamps his feet.Wow, I guess the archivist was not kidding. Let's see what the archivist got to say...
The archivist says, "There, those dancing ruffians have been taken care of. By sheer coincidence, the leader of their little gang looks just like the nice boy who runs all those clubs here in the Archives." He shakes his head. "Kids these days."
He claps his hands. "Anyway! On to business. I see you've found a fifth constellation: Sasha, the Dancer. And of course another chapter has appeared in the Book of Ages. We're drawing ever closer to completing that book." He shuffles some papers on his desk. "And on that note, it seems that there are no history books to be found within Altador. Not a single one! And what's worse -- nobody can seem to remember any of Altador's history. Not even me!" He shudders. "So much knowledge, stolen away somehow. We must find out who is responsible and stop them! Altador's knowledge must be restored!"
Read the Book of Ages to learn about the Dancer.
The ceiling has brighten up above the statue of Sasha, the Dancer.
Last time we visited the Astronomy Club, the president was no to happy. Let's pay another visit...The Astronomy Club members greet you warmly as you enter the room... except the club president, who seems increasingly upset. In fact, he only looks at you for a moment as you enter, then looks away.
Another of the club members, a Korbat, approaches you. "Hi there... I just wanted to say, don't worry about the president, he's just in a little snit because you're such a good astronomer. We know that we shouldn't take it personally." The Korbat looks over his shoulder at the president. "Although when you're not around, he's always bragging about how his club members are so great, and it's because of his leadership that you're finding all these constellations..." He shakes his head and returns to his telescope.
Marak, the Wave
The steps to find the constellation
Go to the docks of Altador and click on one of the waves...

These docks are the basis of Altador's mighty shipping industry.

The spray on the waves seems to have formed itself into an unlikely pattern...

The archivist says, "And the waves, too, bring us further clues... it seems that this magic is permeating all aspects of Altador. But where does it all lead? We must find out. Go, and find the next constellation!"
Now, find the new constellation with your telescope.

Back at the Astronomy Club...
The Astronomy Club members greet you warmly as you enter the room... except the club president, who ignores you completely.
The other club members come over to you. The Wocky clears her throat. "We just wanted to say that we appreciate all the great work you're doing for the Astronomy Club. Finding those constellations has really made everyone impressed with us! So, because of that, we got together -- except for Mr. Pouty over there --" She glares at the club president. "--and got you this!"

Broken Astrolabe
The Wocky continues, "Sorry it's broken, but we don't have a lot of money. In fact, we found it in the storage closet here... But it's still a cool little item, isn't it?"
Go to Donny's Toy Repair Shop to fix the Broken Astrolabe.Visit statue of Marak, the Wave and click on the ceiling.
Back at the archivist's office...
The archivist says, "Ah, I should have suspected -- Marak, the Wave, revealed by the sea. Excellent work. And as usual, another chapter of heroic deeds has appeared in the book."
He sits down at his desk and sighs. "This peculiar situation we're in seems to have created a logical dilemma. I've done some research, and examined the nature of the magic involved. It seems that there are two, identical magics present. One is that which has stolen our history, and the other is that which reveals these clues. They are the same magic. And neither magic feels hostile in any way; but nonetheless, whoever has perpetrated these magics has stolen our history from us. That seems to me an unforgivable crime!" He shakes his head sadly.
"I've also taken a trip to the Hall of Heroes, and looked at the gems embedded in the ceiling above each statue. Half of them are now alight; and it is not unreasonable to guess that we will find more clues, and have the remaining constellations revealed. But in what order? And to what purpose? What is going to be revealed?"
The janitor says, "Ah, you lit up the gems above Marak, the Wave. It's so soothing going down to the seaside and watching the ocean. Just the thing I need when I descend into uncontrollable rage."
