Channy the Mynci has been trapped for three days now. That wicked little Neopet V2 won't let him out of the maintenance area until he has completed his new word game. Uggh! Can you help Channy out so he can escape before he starves to death?
To play the game you have to spell words out by following the blocks in any direction (including diagonals). The longer the word the more points you get. If you get a certain number of points then Neopet V2 will open the door to the next level. Good luck, and try not to starve!
Basic Information
A basic overview of the game
Spell or starve uses the neopets online dictionary for its words,
and therefore loads them each time. They use the same words which
games such as word poker, and eliv thade use. Most words are
universally the same, however in the English language there is the
proper English, ei, England, and then there is the American form from
America. On neopets they use some American words but the words
that are used are almost always the English spelling of them because
Donna and Adam are English.

The idea of the game is to make enough words up for to be
given access by neopets v2 computer and to proceed the next
level. There are three different levels of difficulty, easy
medium and hard. Obviously the easy is the easiest and that is
the best one to use. You are presented with multiple ways of
creating the best words, and it is very time consuming, but with our
help you can make the best word for the best way. Always go for
the words that contain either the changing box or the double or triple
letter score. I you manage to get the word with the longest
possible letters and that gets you to the next level then you have the
rest of the words to come as a bonus.

When your first start up the game, a menu will come up asking your what difficultly your wish to play on. No matter your NeoPets experience or how great you are at spelling, select easy. It can help get you used to the game. Then it will ask you two other options. "Normal or Zed mode". Normal mode is timed, where as Zed mode is not. But your points will clear after each level on Zed mode, so be careful!
There will be blocks with letters on them now. It's your job to spell words to help get poor Channy out of his horrid cell. It can be simple words like "It" to be complicated words like "Malicious". You just have to look closely. Remember to flip the board constantly to view any other options for words (you can flip the board by the arrows).
It has been rumored to be that they do not use the American way of spelling, but only the English. Such as centre, instead of center, etc. The same words you use in Spell or Starve is also used in Eliv Thade and Word Poker. Try using the biggest words you can possibly find. Once you've run out of big words, use the small words and try flipping the board around to see if any new bigger words appear. Use your instincts. Sometimes just trying random letters to create unknown words work, because you never know!

Always try the words first. If you think that there is a word
that you can make and the letters are just out of reach, then make a
small word using no significant values and then see if the block fall
where you want them to. Always try to use the rotation arrows and
the option to guess on any words. If there is a word that
simply looks right but actually isn't one to your knowledge then try
it. You may be wrong but there is a chance that you are right and
then you're laughing.
Levels

Remember that there are different levels of the game and
different difficulties. The hard level is very hard, and to get
past the first level is extremely well done, but don't rest your hopes
on a quick thing and expect to have the neopoints quickly from 5
minutes of play on this level. The best is the easy level and
with that you may complete the game, as it is very easy, and if you do
then you have earned a very respectable couple of hundred
neopoints. It isn't a very fast game in terms on getting
neopoints, but I do say that it isn't quite worth it because there are
loads of games which you can get higher scores in if you try and have
loads of neopoints, but if you like the game or need neopoints having
played all other games, then this is the game for you.
