Introduction

A welcome message to the guide
Dr. Sloth is back yet again, and this time he's unleashing a barrage of battleships upon Kreludor and Neopia's outer planets. Take control of your own space jet and defend the planets against Sloth's evil invaders by blasting them out of the sky! This game is a lot like pteri

NOTE - This game may run slowly on older computers. Sloth deems you too weak to play and you shall be eliminated shortly.

Also use the spacebar to shoot.

The Basics

The basic information you need to know
In this game, if you are concentrating on getting the big points, you are pretty much a goner. The strategy I use is survival. You do not need to destroy every "space bat" or "intergalactic fungus" or whatever you are currently annihalating to pass a mission. You will last much longer if you concentrate on staying alive, rather than destroying everything in your path. Besides, in the grand scheme of things, you will probably gain a much higher score using this strategy. ;)

If you are either an expert at this game, going for a trophy or just need a better game plan: feel free to attempt to destroy everything that moves. However, this is not recommended for rookies. Avoid the small blue shapes, they will destroy your ship. Your enemies shoot them at you, and generally shoot two at a time which seperate into a V shape. Destroying asteriods will give you special things inside (power ups, health, etc.)

Each power up is a different amount of points, but the amount you receive per level stays the same. The amount you receive for asteriods is also the same, but the amount for the enemy space ships is not. It adds 10 per level (level one is 20, level two is 30, etc.).

Try and stay back to the bottom of the screen so you have a lot of room to shoot and move. It can help you predict where to go. Hitting a enemy ship or asteriod dead on is instant dealth.

You have a shield and health. After your shield goes down, your health will decrease. Your shield lowers by 4 when you get hit, then your health will decrease by 2 per time. Getting health and shield power ups will increase the amount it decreases. There is 10 shield and 10 health blocks.

Level Walkthrough

A quick guide on things to do per level
Each level has the same concept, but different aspects. The enemy ships get more grand and harder to beat as each level progresses.

Level One: Stick to the sides. The enemy ships gather in the middle, and any that come down the side you can easily shoot. Keep your firing on at all times, so you can destroy ANY enemy ships or asteriods before they can either shoot at you or hit into you.

Level Two: You now have a bigger, better gun. Watch your enemy space ships. They travel from right to left, or left to right filling up your screen with blue

Level Three: In this level, giant fungus will attack you. Larger fungus' take more shoots to take down, and make sure you do! They can shoot from behind when they pass you and blow your ship up. By destroy the objects they shot from their eyes, you can gain points.

Level Four: You go back to space monsters who move from side to side, and there is also turrets (positioned gun that shoots lots) on the ground that shoot at you.

Level Five:...to be written.

Bonus Objects

The basic information you need to know
There are things in the game called "bonus objects". By blasting open ships or asteriods, you can collect these bonus objects to help raise your overall score.

5 Points: You can receive this power up from destroying enemy ships. Remember to collect them! This power up is seen quite frequently.
25 Points: This power up is often found inside the asteriods and can be received as frequently as the 5 point object IF you can destroy the asteriod.
50 Points: This power up is often found inside the asteriods and can be received as frequently as the 5 point object IF you can destroy the asteriod.
Unknown (75 pts?): This power up is not seen quite often in the first couple of levels.
Unknown (100 pts?): This power up is not seen quite often in the first couple of levels.

The Power Ups

The basic information you need to know
Not only are there bonus objects, but power ups to help you along the way! These can raise your health and shield back to normal, give you an extra life, and power up your weapon!

Shield Power-up: You will regain 4 points of shield back per health power up.
Health Power-up: You will regain 2 points of health back per health power up.
Extra Life: You will receive one more life onto your game.
Weapon Power up: This will give you two lasers for the first time you get it, then if you get it for a second time the laser beams will scatter and shoot a lot of things.

Tips

The basic information you need to know
  • Positioning your ship is important. If you are the farthest back you can get from the action, you will have more time to react. However, this will also give your enemies more time to shoot and therefore you will have to deal with a lot more enemy fire. I would recommened staying slightly back from the middle of the screen to balance it out. If you think you have great reflexes however, feel free to move farther up on your screen.
  • The trigger button is your friend! Luckily for you, you have an unlimited supply of ammo. So don't be shy when it comes to firing those lasers. I usually have my finger on the trigger button for the duration of the game. This way, I don't have to worry about enemy ships that appear directly in front of me, because they will most likely be blasted by my onslaught of laser fire as soon as they enter the screen.
  • Keep your eyes on enemy flight plans. For example: In the first mission your enemies will tend to appear in the middle of the screen and then move out to the sides. When this happens, I will usually keep to the sides and cut into the middle long enough to blast enemies that might move into my path. Then, I would dart back to the sides so that I won't have to worry about getting blasted myself. In the second mission, it's just the opposite. Enemies will usually appear at the sides and come into the middle. This makes things harder, because you have to worry about them coming from both sides instead of one. Choose a side and cut to that side to destroy enemies to give yourself more room to move.
  • Asteroids are not always to be feared. Like yourself, enemies can not move through them. Therefore, hiding behind them will usually hide yourself from enemies who would like nothing more than to crash into you head on. When you are confident enough, blast that flying hunk of rock and keep moving straight ahead.
  • My most important tip of all! When aiming for survival, it is important where you are concentrating on the screen. Instead of concentrating on your enemies, concentrate more on their fire closer to your ship. This will help when things get really crazy and you seem to be getting shot at from all sides. Just keep your finger on that trigger button and concentrate on dodging that fire. Do not look at your enemies. This will just distract you and, no doubt, get yourself destroyed.
