Tutorial

Now for what you came for!
1. Go to File > New. Create a new file. Make it 300 x 300 (width x height). Paste the following shield your new canvas.

2. Find the image you want to use to "overlay" the shield. I used a Faerie Buzz for this picture, you can do the same if you like.

3. Paste the image (buzz) overtop the shield.

4. Use the Magic Wand to erase the white background around the buzz (use the wand to select the white area and hit "delete" to erase).

5. Use the Eraser to erase the buzz except for it's right wing. You may need to zoom in for this.

6. You should have something like this:

7. Move the wings next to the shield. Change the opacity to 50.

8. Erase the parts of the wings that overlay the shield.

9. Change the opacity back to 100% or to your liking. Now you're done!
