Preview of what the finished product will look like

I ran out of time in Design Class to finish this image, but I promise I'll finish it one day and write a tutorial on how to do her nose.
Tutorial
Now for what you came for!
1. Find an image you'd like to use.
2. Use the pen tool to trace her hair with a nice brown colour (#b59c68). It doesn't need to be perfect. You don't have to make her exactly as it is. I made her hair flow straight, where as in the picture she has curly hair.

3. If you "hide" the background layer (click the eye beside the layer), you can see what the vector looks like.
4. Trace her face with a nice peach colour (#). Just her face, leave her neck and chest.

5. Select the same colour and trace her neck now. On the face layer, add a light drop shadow. This will give the picture perspective.

6. Outline her shirt now. You will have to do it in two sectons because there is a split in the middle. If you want, you don't have to show the split in the middle, you can fill that in. Remember, vectors don't have to look exactly like the image!

7. Outline her eyebrows. I only did the one on the right because the hair covers most of her eyebrows.

7. Her eyes are quite easy. Use a "spike technique" to do her eyelashes (see below).

8. Her lips ar fairly easy. Outline her lips with a nice pink, then select a darker pink and draw through the center to seperate her lips.

RASTERIZING EACH LAYER BEFORE GOING ONTO ANOTHER LAYER (MAKING ANOTHER SHAPE) IS VERY HELPFUL!

Now tht you've learned how to do the basics of vector, you can try vectoring other things like:
